Leica I C/0 Standard mount

Hi Leica friends, I have a query regarding the first done Leica I C/0 Standard mount.

According the lists I have Leicas with standardized mount we find in the market with serial n. lower than 60500 are converted from I Mod.A Elmar (would have 7 o'clock Elmar 3.5/5cm) or non-standard ones, but sometime some sellers talk about "original standard" cameras with serial numbers till in the 55xxx range ( also see lot 10 auction n.8, Westlicht, source is Hahne list...but this list is sometimes found wrong).

Someone here has better sources/informations?

Thanks!

A collector in my town has a standard(ized?) IC/0 with s/n 59738... export version ("open-close" in the baseplate and Elmar in feet).

A question about non standards that intrigues me is this : some authors (Van Hasbroek, Laney...) say that the "first series" of IC non std. had the FULL 5 digit number on the lens(es ?)... but seems to me to to have never seen such an item, apart #37309 (Leica IC + Elmar 5) quoted by Lager...

Yes... and examples are rather often displayed... I wonder if this question of the full 5 digits is real or a sort of legend...

Not a legend at all, Luigi! My Fontenelle collection included (in 1982) a wonderful set in leather case : Leica I © nº 37380 with 13,5 cm swinging mask and Elmars 3,5, 5 and 13,5 cm, all engraved "37380" (plus FODIS, old FISON, clamp-on filters etc..). I believe it is now part of a collection in Switzerland. When I trace the photos, I'll publish them:

I supposed YOU had something about... :)... that Fontenelle collection really had treasures (I think also to the Summilux 50 SM in another thread... ;))

...and you have now the photos under "Fontenelle archives 64".

Best regards, Luigi.
