leica dream Posted December 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am not getting correct results when printing my images, so I am sure my monitor needs re-calibrating. Can anyone recommend a decent calibration tool which will not break this pensioner's bank? Richard
Advertisement Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Hi leica dream, Take a look here monitor calibration. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnwolf Posted December 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2009 Richard, Eye-One Display 2 is under $200. I've used it for years and been pleased. Skimping on calibration will quickly catch up with you in paper costs and aggravation. Best to spring for something decent. John
Guest WPalank Posted December 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2009 Personally I use ColorEyes Display Pro. However, I agree with John regarding X-Rites Eye-One Display. It's a very effective system and the software makes it very easy to calibrate for a newbie. I hope the mods don't mind but I just received a special pricing notice from Adorama for $114.95 including free shipping. IMHO that's an excellent price. Probably worth a look on xrite.com. John
Guest WPalank Posted December 4, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 4, 2009 John, You are right. Here is the Light version (on sale from Adorama): X-Rite: Get exactly the color you need, every time, anywhere in the world. and the 2 which you own: X-Rite: Get exactly the color you need, every time, anywhere in the world. Looks like the Lite version only has a Easy Mode. But according to the website, you can upgrade to the 2 which looks like a software only upgrade. Might be a perfect entry point for the OP.
