Kate Vogel Nittolo Posted August 2, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was using my Digilux 4.3 to photograph hot air balloons the other night and when I turned the camera off, the lens cover did not close. Now when I turn the camera on, I cannot use it to take pictures because the lens will not extend. Has anyone had this problem? How do I correct? I have tried repeatedly to turn the camera on and off, but nothing happens to the lens and its cover.
Advertisement Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Hi Kate Vogel Nittolo, Take a look here Digilux 4.3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dugby Posted August 2, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 2, 2006 Try removing the battery for a period of time. You may need to experiment with varying durations. Initially try a 1 minute period, and then re-insert battery.
leicapages Posted August 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted August 2, 2006 Kate, this is the kind of joke I have experienced with another manufacturer's high-end compact camera as well. In the end, the only way to make this funny electronics behave correctly, is to remove the battery and insert them later. Also, make sure they are properly charged. jmr Posted August 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 2, 2006 Kate, hope you get it sorted-out soon, it is upsetting when something you like to use breaks. The same thing happened to the first Diglux 4.3 I owned, a few years ago now. Nothing would fix it and, as it was almost new at the time, the retailer replaced it under warranty. I think the gears driving the lens out and in had become mashed-up The replacement continued to work faultlessly beyond its replacement with a Digilux 2. Hope your problem is less intractable.
