schimmey Posted September 1, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi All. I was speaking to a leica friend yesterday who mentioned that he knows of at least three people who have actually taken their faulty camera to Solms & Leica have actually repaired it while they wait. Has anyone else had this experience and/or heard of this as I am considering it as an option. Thanks. Paul
Advertisement Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Hi schimmey, Take a look here Taking it to Solms?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted September 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 1, 2009 If you take your camera into Customer Service in Solms, they will examine it whilst you wait and if they can fit it into their schedule for the day they will try and help you straight away. spylaw4 Posted September 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2009 Remember that Customer Service and Factory are at "opposite ends" of Solms - quite some distance apart.
richam Posted September 1, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 1, 2009 About 5 years ago, I had a 35mm Summaron CLA done. Deposited it in the morning, went on a factory tour most of the day, and picked it up in the late afternoon.
stuny Posted September 1, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 1, 2009 It's a bit far for you to drive, but I've had the same experiences that Jaap had, only at the Leica US facility in New Jersey.
schimmey Posted September 1, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted September 1, 2009 Thank you for your input. I may try that as an option. I assume that if it cannot be fixed then they will keep it & return was sorted. I will have a look at the tours to see if I can fit that in. Very good idea. It is a bit far from here but I have friends within a couple hours drive... & should really go & visit. Thanks. Paul
