Wolfgang Esslinger Posted April 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The shutter release button of my M7 is one of the best I have ever touched - smooth as silk. The shutter release button of my R9 - and that includes the 2 buttons of the DMR - is by far the worst I have ever touched. I can feel the spring inside which apparently lacks oil or is of a mediocre quality. I wonder, what are your experiences? How can one company produce the best and the worst at almost the same time??? Advertisement Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hi Wolfgang Esslinger, Take a look here shutter release button - R vs M. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted April 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2009 My R8 shutter button seems fine and unremarkable. Same goes for my D2 and my Panasonic equivalent to C-Lux-2. Perhaps I'm not sensitive to it.
jaapv Posted April 15, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2009 Actually I never use the R9 shutter button. It is an an utterly akward place with the DMR fitted. The DMR shutter releases are excellent, sensitive switches with a positive action and clear release point. It may be yours needs service.
Wolfgang Esslinger Posted April 15, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 15, 2009 Thank you, gentlemen, for the quick responses! My R9 and DMR have been to Solms various times for other reasons but next time I make sure they have a look at these buttons as well.
