Individuals really can't tell by the serial nr. or by the reflective color of the VF. The issue with serial nrs is that they are not applied consecutively by Leica but in batches. Something that has an apparently "old" s/n could have been made quite recently. Probably the most foolproof method is to send the body to Leica NJ and ask them. I was convinced that one of mine had the MP finder but it turned out not to be the case after I sent the body to NJ for examination.
