Advertisement Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Hi Agent M10, Take a look here Ming Thein Comparison of MM to Nikon D800E. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SJP Posted May 27, 2012 Share #2 Posted May 27, 2012 It is the M9M - obviously. You recognize a cat by its hairs.
fotolebrocq Posted May 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted May 27, 2012 OK, I'll say it. I love my M9 and lenses - but the 800E is one hell of a camera and for all the hype about the amazing non bayer sensor of the MM and the Apo Summicron, the (photo finish) winner for me is the Nikon which can also do it in colour. lct Posted May 27, 2012 Share #4 Posted May 27, 2012 The Nikon does well with a rather modest lens like the Cosina-made Nikkor 45/2.8. I do like the rendering of the latter which reminds me of the Elmar 50 but it is not fair to compare it to the Apo Summicron IMHO. Put a Planar on the 800E instead and we'll se what the M10 would be able to do with a CMOS if any.
Guest malland Posted May 27, 2012 Share #5 Posted May 27, 2012 OK, I'll say it. My predicament is that I like what I see about the M-Monochrm but wonder how the M10 would be for B&W. See this thread. —Mitch/Pak Nam Pran Pak Nam Pran
andyedward Posted May 27, 2012 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2012 A very insightful comparison. Thanks again, Ming. The d800 ideally should have had a leitaxed 50 lux R, with both cameras shot at f5.6, but I guess Ming didn't have one to hand.
