I believe the 28 Safari won't be available in the UK until February. :ā( -
New Safari Leica Lenses and a BP 50mm Lux are out

Really? I bought a black chrome 50 Summilux (loved the red lettering) but later purchased the close-focus current lens. I don't sense that the BC is substantially heavier. BTW the new 50 has a little more resolution. -
painterly character; great!

Shooting experience of the M EV1 vs SL3 with M Lenses
microview replied to LanceR's topic in Leica M EV1
Tried focusing M11P Safari using Visoflex and results were fairly good, but invariably checking through the RF window showed exact focus was not achieved. Anyway, RF far quicker ā I haven't needed to go for the closer focus some M lenses now offer. Would use Q2/non-micro setting for that. -
I believe you are saying that you thought Jono's pics had something new and extremely attractive. Same here, but as sensor and processor are the same as with the M11P there should be no differences. (Like you, I recently fell for the Safari M! and love it to bits!)

Grip now going back for refund. While very well engineered, the apertures for trigger access and battery dropping free were too restrictive. Didn't let battery drop freely and I thought edges would mark if used often. I see there are two or three non-Leica grips with similar features.

Now I know what 'tough' means in Sony Tough cards: the twin contacts meant I had to use small pliers to remove from my new Safari M11P! š

So did mine (M11P) but this week I bought the Safari edition and no charger in the box. Same with Q3 43 I bought last September. I do like the mains charger so will keep when I sell my black M11P. They are available separately in the UK with different adaptors for use abroad.

Yes it's great to wake up, switch on Macbook and see one-hour time slot ahead with DPD company. Have had less success with UPS when (twice) I waited in but got email saying no-one at home to receive item. Basement indicator label is perfectly clear at main upper door bell array. So for them I stick A4 notice on the door!

In a lengthy review by Keith Wee, he says "In fact, I am now pretty confident I can skip the 1.25x magnifier with how much better the M11-Pās optical viewfinder is". He shows a silver M11 and the review predates the Safari camera.

Received mine from Wex today just 24 hours after ordering (DPD delivered a few minutes before quoted time-slot). Really pleased but must admit silver lenses would look better than my black ones. Noticed one unexpected thing: M8 and onwards and I have needed to fit a screw-in dioptre, but not here ā rangefinder is crystal clear. Am awaiting third-party ebony wood grip from Amazon which may look better (and is Ā£100+ cheaper!) than the Leica. Anyone worried over the durability of the rubber flap on the Leica handgrip?

Scrolling through the uploaded photos in this thread, yours really stand out ā so much that the poster ID almost becomes unnecessary!
