  1. If possible go to a Leica store and first try a different camera to rule out a camera fault with your camera. If the other camera is also blurry you know your eyesight is the issue. Then do trial and error with diopters until you find the correct one. That is what I did. I thought I would need +0.5 but turns out -0.5 was the best fit for me. Much easier than going to an optometrist (for me). Plus you get a chance to play with all the nice things while you are there.
  2. I have not yet purchased the M11 and this shutter sound/lag thing is the main reason for that. For me, potential solutions would be: 1. Introduce a discrete mode for single shot mode, where the shutter does not re-open until you remove your finger from the release. 2. When in fully manual mode, introduce a mode without metering, such that the shutter doesn't need to be open in the first place. 3. Introduce an EFCS mode. I am mainly interested in (1) and (2). Both of these could be done in firmware as options without affecting the current operation of the camera. (2) and (3) would have the added benefit of reducing wear on the shutter. Leica, if you can please do this I will hand you my $9k right now... Waiting for you to take my money. Paul
  3. I chose to skip the M11 and wait for the P/D/R/... Hence I do not qualify to respond to the survey. If I were Leica I'd probably be more interested to hear from people who *didn't* buy?
  4. Could it be simply that your eyes are reacting to the increased detail that a 60MP file offers over a 24MP one? Have you tried shooting at lower resolution or with different (more vintage) lenses? The camera and sensor work together to produce the image. A 60MP sensor is a big difference over 24MP. You might need to choose an older/softer lens to achieve the softness you desire?
  5. Looks like OP has no issue with focusing…
  6. That’s good to know. Sounds like an isolated case.
  7. @kwesi I am very far from being a newbie. And I don’t yet own the M11. I am only passing on something I witnessed in the hope it might help. I don’t have time to read every post on this forum. I hope your post made you feel better. But I see it as being pretty immature.
  8. Only relaying this from a video I saw on Youtube so that the powers that be can get it fixed. Someone reported that if the shutter speed dial is accidentally sitting between two speeds, the camera will default to 5s. A simple firmware update could fix this so that a non-selected shutter speed defaults to the last selected speed. Paul
  9. One option missing from the survey: Will you wait for M11-P? I'm currently leaning towards that camp.
  10. I'm still in denial.
  11. And they could have left the old meter there and made both of us happy. You are taking one concern I have about responsiveness and sound of the camera way out of context. I am criticizing one design decision, not the camera as a whole and the improvements you have mentioned. Impossible to have a reasonable discussion on the internet these days it seems. I have heard the camera and it is a major step back in terms of sound. This matters to some of us. They could have left the old meter there and given us the best of both worlds. Or implemented EFC. Hopefully they will do that but somehow I doubt it. Imagine the battery life that could have been possible also. Facepalm indeed.
  12. Why will light curtain meeting not come back? If enough people are vocal about wanting it, then it would be extremely silly of Leica to ignore that. Secondly, RDF measured the response time of the shutter and it is slower than the M10. Not by much but it is slow. This is the wrong direction for Leica to be taking the M. I personally do not want or need fancy meeting modes on a rangefinder camera. I want the camera to operate as fast as a mechanical film camera and sound like a mechanical film camera. But be digital. I agree with the issues the OP is expressing.
  13. Are the optical elements of the EVF made of glass?
  14. Looking forward to seeing your first output.
  15. That is pretty much an end game combo right there.
