kassarat Posted October 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Do you know about vintage movie lens that modified to use with M9 ? I only saw picture in computer. My friend told me it was taken by M9 with vintage movie lens, but he could not remember its name. I love its bokeh, and I love to have one. Advertisement Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Hi kassarat, Take a look here Leica M9 with movie Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
zeitz Posted October 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2009 You have two options. Lenses with longer than 68.8mm from the rear element to the focal point might be able to be modified and used on Visoflex II or III. Other options are Kilfitt, Novoflex, Astro Berlin, etc which were available with movie adapters and are easilty used IF the Leica adapter can be found. The classic adapters are getting harder and harder to find. Lenses, particularly movie lenses, that can't be used on Visoflex are problems because the don't have rangefinder coupling and may not cover the 24x36mm frame. Remember the 35mm movie frame is a single frame and would be considered a half frame for 35 mm still cameras. That's why a long time ago 35 mm still cameras were called double frame. It would take consideration on a case by case basis to find one that would work. You may want to browse KevinCameras listing of Modified Lens, Movie Lens and Collectibles. You may not like these options or the prices, but it may give you some ideas on what might be doable. Kevin's specialty is modifying lens mounts.
