Is it me or is the M9 viewfinder just a tad clearer than the M8? I know some of you have stated that the M9 is seems to focus easier, and I wonder of this is what you are referring to. Having both cameras side by side I am convinced there is a slight but definite difference in clarity.

What do you think?

Also for me checking with both cameras side by side the M9 viewfinder is a bit clearer.

Virgil, I can't find that difference. Actually my M8 is 1month old (since it was replaced with a new one by Leica recently), while the M9 is just a couple of weeks old.

Maybe it's just the physiological opacity of the VF due to use/dust/atmospheric agents?

I wondered about that but I have had much older film Ms with no issues. But again, this is very subtle. I will do a placebo controlled study this weekend with someone who has never looked through an M and report back.
