butchhul Posted November 23, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wondered if anyone has been using any of the Ultrawides with the M8 (12mm CV, 15mm CV, 16mm Hologon, etc.) and had any comments? blovitch Posted November 23, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2006 I have posted a couple of pictures on this forum from the CV 15mm and the M8.... Results are excellent.
lars_bergquist Posted November 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2006 The images seen have been typical outdoor SWA pictures, which are in any case generally acceptable without filtering. That is, no overall incandescent lighting, items which may show up an unexpected purple are usually rendered very small and unobtrusive. So I still doubt that focal lengths shorter than 28 mm (equivalent to 35 mm on full format) can be adequately served. And a Leica M without real wide angles is unthinkable. Leica must improve the IR protection of the actual sensor (and fix the lousy AWB) before I will permit my order to go through. Butch Hulett Hi Butch, I posted this one on DPreview a coupla days ago - it's a full sized quality 10 jpeg and was the first shot I took with the CV15mm. Nothing arty but a big shot od London sky scape with plenty of chance to see how the lens holds up in detailed areas. tashley Posted November 23, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 23, 2006 PS to my post above, Firefox scales this down whereas Safari at least shows it full size, which is really the only point of looking at it! TIm
butchhul Posted November 24, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted November 24, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thank all for the feedback. I quite like my 15 CV and look forward to marrying it to an M8 soon. No returns concerning the 12 CV, which I also enjoy immensely, but I don't foresee any reason why it should not also work, although finding an IR filter for it may be problematic. Many thanks, Butch Hulett
