Hi all,

well, it's late september and we still haven't seen any sample images. I thought the camera was supposed to be rolling out by now.

Are there no proud owners who whish to share their experience with this forum, yet?

Was the camera delayed?

Does anyone know why it's so quite right now? I would have thought a lot happening on the usual forums (LL, DPI, etc.)

David Farkas promised an in-depth, hands-on review of the S2 to be published on his blog a week ago. Still nothing.

I don't think Hasselblad's timing to bring the news of the H4D late september has been a coincidence. They probably expected a lot of S2 noise, right now they have all the attention...

Putting the finishing touches on the review right now. I'm just waiting on a few technical answers from Germany. I should be putting it online in a few days.

Thanks for your interest.

David

I was just on the phone with a camera store and asked about when they're expecting S2s to arrive, just out of curiosity. They stated that they were expecting a couple of bodies the first week in November, so in about a month.

How "late September" can you get?

Its starting to get chilly here in new york and the leaves are turning.. yes it is october now..but I refuse to fire up the furnace because according to solms..it still must be late summer..maybe we will get an indian summer in late october..one can hope. Maybe they are busy getting ready to pull another huge rabbit out of their very deep hat. btw, I've been told there should be a production model at the photoplus expo in 3 weeks.

I spent time with Leica and pre-production S2, 70mm & 180mm lenses within a M9 and S2 introduction event at Camtec in Montreal. I'm told production units are expected to be on the ground between mid-October and early November.
