R lens

No, the S2 will not support/allow the use of R lenses.

Leica (Stephan Daniel/M9 interview, the 76 minute one) hinted at camera(s) they are working on but nothing definitive except to say that it would not be a DSLR. It's going to be a while so either be patient, or buy a C or N and use the R lenses with adapters on them.

Or, as many of us still do - shoot film and scan and have the best of both. There have been many threads previous that have gone over ideas, speculations, etc on this very topic.

Or buy a used DMR with an R8 or R9.

You might consider getting a Canon 5D Mark II and using R lenses on it with an adapter. It is a fantastic tool. I'm haiving great fun with it. Here's something with a 90mm Elmarit R. Leica decided not to continue the R line cameras, but life goes on. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/other/99813-under-boardwalk.html

How much does a used DMR alone cost now, and where can I buy it?, since I already have R9 body.

I have not seen a DMR alone recently. I have seen the DMR with R8 or R9 at stores for US$5000 and selling quickly. I recently bought a DMR from a private party with a damaged R8 (shutter blades messed up) for US$3000. I then fixed the shutter using a partly-straightened paper clip and a thumb.

i think if you look on ebay you'll see a few

I have not seen any recently. As I already own one, bought new when they came out, I am happy and will keep on using it.

Actually, my solution to the "R10 problem" might just be an M9 for 50mm and shorter lenses and the R9 and DMR for longer lenses!
