i just got a lens hood for my 50 2.5. it screws on and hits the stop just where it should, but the hood is not tight on the lens,so i used teflon tape to tighten it up. anyone else have this problem?

I had exactly the same problem with this hood on a 35mm Summarit - I 'solved' it by putting a small amount of Blu-Tack on the mounting threads. A spot of 'Lock Tight' would probably be even more effective - but possibly a little too permanent.

Incidentally, I'm getting the impression that metering on the M9 is more accurate if one uses a good lens hood on wide angle lenses such as the 35mm Summarit - presumably it prevents the sky from over-influencing the meter.

Good evening,

I bought a Summarit 50 2.5 about two weeks ago and the lens hood. I had the same problem. With the hood this lens is a beauty. However I did return the hood. Yes you can use teflon tape but I prefer to use that on a plastic toy lens which costs about $ 14,99. I don't want to use it on a lens which costs over $ 1000,00. To say the least, I was deeply dissapointed. Now I am looking for an alternative. Kind greetings, bertus
