airess Posted September 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) My M8 tends to have a shutter release button problem. For no obvious reason both modes, S and C are not working while the self timer still works fine. Depleting the battery and recharging does not help. Failure then disappears as miraculously as it has appeared. Has anyone heard of that problem or does anyone know if a discussion can be found in a forum thread? Thanks for replies. Advertisement Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Hi airess, Take a look here Shutter Release Button Failure. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted September 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2009 No, it's not a problem that I recall being mentioned before and sounds like an intermittently poor electrical connection in the shaft beneath the shutter release. Regrettably it sounds like something that Leica will need to fix. Pete.
epand56 Posted September 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2009 Never heard of that, sorry.
2Bébèrt Posted September 24, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 24, 2009 My M8 has a similar problem, (S gave no menu and playback, C could sometimes not stop taking shots and OFF was not realy off and drained the battery) according to Solms due to waterdamage. In this post on another forum you can see how I "fixed" this problem. "Marknorton's Anatomy" revisited - The GetDPI Workshop Forums
airess Posted September 24, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted September 24, 2009 Thank you guys so far for the responses. I will most likely send the body to Leica or turn it in myself, since I live not too far from Solms.
