Falstaff Posted September 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I shall be in London as of tomorrow for a couple of days and would like to know of somewhere where I can walk in and have a jpg image printed, preferably while I wait. Postcard size and B&W, nothing special, nothing fancy and if possible, not that expensive. Central London would be best. I am aware of Calumet at Euston but some other options would be gratefully accepted. Thanks Falstaff
Advertisement Posted September 22, 2009 Posted September 22, 2009 Hi Falstaff, Take a look here Question for Londoners. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
danmitch Posted September 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 22, 2009 Lots of possibilities - you could try Jessops in New Oxford Street, I believe Richard Caplan now have a little photo kiosk for small prints or any Snappy Snaps branch. I will be in South Molton Street tomorrow morning, if it is nothing special and you just need a print, I am happy to run you one off on my Epson R800 at home this evening and you can come by and grab it from me tomorrow! Marty Posted September 22, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 22, 2009 There is also this Kodak kiosk locator.
stunsworth Posted September 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 22, 2009 Falstaff, for b&w images I'd avoid those small Kodak units where the prints drop out of the bottom of the device. I believe they use dye sub printers, and unless things have changed in the last couple of years the results from b&w are dire.
gravastar Posted September 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2009 Most branches of Boots have a 1 hour service. You upload your card with jpegs in the shop, select the photos to be printed and pay when you collect 1 hour later. They print on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. I'm not sure how well B&W turn out though. I think the largest they print is 6"x 9". As was previously said, avoid the instant dye sub printers which may also be in Boots. Bob. Danmitch, I particularly appreciate your generous offer, I should have said that I’m driving down sometime in the morning and will not be getting there till after lunch….. Still, many thanks. I shall try one of the cheap and cheerful places. Again thanks Falstaff
