Having no interest in old film cameras or their history, it never occurred to me to join the LHSA. This year's annual meeting, however, is in my hometown and some of the events seem interesting. So I am considering joining in order to attend the meeting. Is anybody here an LHSA member, and if so, why?

I've been an LHSA member for the last four years and have gone to all of the annual meetings. I'm not a collector or historian. The meetings are a lot of fun and have some really great programming and shooting opportunities. You can also try out all the latest Leica gear on extended loan (including the S2 and M9). Even Dr. Kaufmann (the owner of Leica) has shown up every year to give a keynote.

I'd encourage anyone interested in Leica to go. You don't have to know anything about the history of film cameras.
