cbretteville Posted November 20, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Does anyone know if the neoprene case (great idea btw) fits the M8 with the handgripp fitted? Cheers, - Carl
Advertisement Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hi cbretteville, Take a look here M8 neoprene case, does the handgripp fit inside? . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mhoutman Posted November 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 20, 2006 Carl, It definitely should. I received today this case ( Neoprene Case M with long fromt part 14868 ) and it even fits my M7 with Leicavit attached and APO Summicron-M 2/75 ASPH. Nice case too for the money and IMO for the moment the best alternative. Michiel
grober Posted November 20, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 20, 2006 Short front case which I bought is suitable for attached lenses up to a PHYSICAL length of 60mm. My 50mm CV Nokton with its stubby lenshood and lens cap just fits inside. I like the one-piece construction (nothing to lose) and the fact that EVERYTHING is in black including the stitched Leica logo on the case's front. -g
carstenw Posted November 20, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 20, 2006 What colour is it when photographed with the M8?
marknorton Posted November 20, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 20, 2006 Purple...
carstenw Posted November 20, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 20, 2006 Eek! Well, there is a perfect test for Leica for the next camera. Depict their own accessories in accurate colours.
erg Posted November 20, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I also discovered my neopren case as a perfect test item for the magenta-issue.
tim Posted November 20, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 20, 2006 funny, my Neopren case looks much more black even on a JPG directly form my M8. Best regards, Tim

carstenw Posted November 20, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 20, 2006 funny, my Neopren case looks much more black even on a JPG directly form my M8.Best regards, Tim Tim, that's not black. It is not bad, and I do love my M8, but sampling the shiny part of that case I get RGB = (67, 54, 71), ie. purple.
tim Posted November 21, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 21, 2006 Tim, that's not black. It is not bad, and I do love my M8, but sampling the shiny part of that case I get RGB = (67, 54, 71), ie. purple. yes, it has a magenta touch, but not as bad as on the picutre above. I didn't want to say that my M8 has no magenta issue, but it is not that bad. I think that I could live with a firmware upgrade and a new M8 profile for C1. I like the neopren case very much as I usually do not carry photo bags. I just put my camera - with neopren case on - in my backpack and that's it. Very convenient and not much to carry around. If I put the 2/35 or the 2/50 on there is still some space left inside and therefore I would assume that the handgripp would fit in as well Best regards, Tim
mhoutman Posted November 21, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 21, 2006 Carl, Please don't forget that the neopren case is available in two sizes (same price). I would opt for the large one as it takes lenses up to the 75mm APO. Michiel
cbretteville Posted November 21, 2006 Author Share #13 Posted November 21, 2006 Michiel, Thanks. The big one or one of each would be my choice. My main lens (on the M6 at least) is the 35'lux ASPH. One of each makes sence too as with the M8 I'll have two bodies. - C
marknorton Posted November 21, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 21, 2006 I think these are pretty inexpensive - less than a filter - so worth protecting the camera when not in use.
