Tullahoma Posted September 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Ruby Throat Humming Bird migration is underway. This female was very cautious in watching for intruders in "her" territory while perched on one of our feeders. Oly E-510 with Leica Elmarit-R 60/2.8 Macro Jim N. Advertisement Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Hi Tullahoma, Take a look here Cautious Humming Bird. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
MEB Posted September 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 13, 2009 How the devil do you catch pictures of those little beasties? We have a feeder outside our kitchen window and they never stay there longer than 10-20 seconds. By the time I get my camera they are long gone! Very nice shot. Tullahoma Posted September 13, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted September 13, 2009 You just have to be prepared. I placed this feeder outside the window of our "home office", where I spend a lot of time. I had the camera on the couch below the window. When I saw her visiting the feeder repeatedly, I partially closed the drapes, leaving enough of a gap to view the feeder. I then fired off several shots on her next visit, and this was the best of the lot. Thanks for looking. Jim N.
