Guest Posted September 24, 2009 Share #61 Posted September 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The lens on the X1 won't do that. I checked with Leica and they confirmed that it'll only retract when the camera is turned off. Interesting to read that Leica in Solms is answering now questions regarding X1! Mail reply to your mail or a phone call being answered as politely as usually AND as clearly as for instance questions regarding the M8 are being answered since summer 2007? So things are moving on Good

nhabedi Posted September 24, 2009 Share #62 Posted September 24, 2009 Interesting to read that Leica in Solms is answering now questions regarding X1! What's interesting about this? Why shouldn't they? Mail reply to your mail or a phone call being answered as politely as usually AND as clearly as for instance questions regarding the M8 are being answered since summer 2007? I don't know where you're heading at. Whenever I sent an email to Leica with questions, I always received a clear, definite, and polite answer from a real person in a few days. I could name a lot companies in various industries which are far worse as far as communication with their customers is concerned.

In my opinion these kind of wishes could be solved by the user himself by means of a software solution. When you buy the camera, the menus are preset. If you want to add or delete menupoints or want to change presets, you would have to load the update software from the internet. After loading the software to your pc, you would have the possibility to add and delete points in the menus. After having chosen your parameters, the modified software could be lead into the camera eventually together with the last version of the camera software. Of course the plausibilty has to be checked before feeding the software into the camera. Examples of menu points to add or delete. I add some wishes for the Digilux-4, that I have read here in the last months. 1. Retract lens at entering the sleep mode (or at turn off) 2. Take zoomposition 60 mm at startup 3. Ignore zoom switch and stay at 24 mm 4. Delete menupoint xy ("intelligent-iso" seems to be not popular) 5. Set user copyright to all pictures Jan
