viramati Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) with the arrival of the M9 I am really thinking of a switch from Nikon (D700). I already use Zeiss lens's 25/f2.8, 35/f2 and 85/f1.4 I would like to duplicate this range and maybe adding a 18mm but the cost of all of this in leica glass would really be to much. any comments really appreciated

The wide-angles are Distagon designs for reflex cameras (retrofocus) and Biogon designs for rangefinder cameras (more symmetrical and small). The 25, 35 and 85mm Zeiss lenses are great performers. Just as good as similarly specified Leicas. Read Erwin Puts analysis of those lenses. Welcome and good luck.
gwelland Posted September 11, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2009 If anyone has the M9 and the 21mm/2.8 Biogon, I would like to see images with a self-coded lens, please. I have half the combo with a Milich coded adapter on it. I'll show you something when my M9 arrives ...
wilfredo Posted September 11, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 11, 2009 I have the 18mm Zeiss M lens and it is an excellent choice. Very solid and tack sharp. Great contrast.
dfarkas Posted September 11, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) get 50/1.5 [the new ones, 1.5 optimized ] The 50mm f/1.5 Sonnar has been shipping optimized for f/1.5 for over a year. All Zeiss dealers have been getting these for quite some time. Same goes for the new mounts. David

waterlenz Posted September 11, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 11, 2009 I guess the question is how important is in-camera processing? Look like there may be color shifts if not done right as seen in Adan's post with the CV15.
