35mmSummicron Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) This question is for the lucky people who already own brand new M9's. What software is provided with the M9 (I already know it comes with Lightroom to download) I am interested to see if Leica updated Leica Digital Capture (or some other solution) to allow mac users 10.5 + to tether the camera (hopefully reliably) thanks, andy

ynp Posted September 11, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2009 Hello, I am happy that Leica brought the m9 with the 135 format sensor. Now I am on the waiting list. I read that the camera is supplied with LR and that is being lively discussed. I am in the minority of people who uses the m8 in studio and I prefer to have an option of tethering. Does anybody know if Leica introduced their new tethering software and what is supplied on the CD with the camera. Thanks, Yevgeny
Marty Posted September 11, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 11, 2009 There is no CD in the box, at least not in mine. Lightroom is a download. No thethering software.
Kittyphoto Posted September 11, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2009 I am using M8 + Leica Digital Capture 1 on Mac Tiger too. It is frustrated to keep one HD partition for Tiger and old C1 4.0 Latest C1 4.8.x pro run on Leopard only. It is very fast and stable on Leopard. I really wish Leica update tether software for M8 and M9 on Mac Leopard. I still don't understand what kind of strategic partner between Leica and phaseone to bundle LR with M9 instead of C1. kitty
35mmSummicron Posted September 11, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted September 11, 2009 If you can tether the S2 with Capture One then yes! (C1 will open S2 DNG files) If Phase released tether support for the M9 that was reliable, I would be all smiles! I suspect the S2 may have put Phase 1's (medium-format) back up! I just hope that Leica will introduce the new shooting SW alongside the S2 before the end of the year. Yevgeny
Kittyphoto Posted September 12, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 12, 2009 It's my pleasure Yevgeny. Hope you got your M9 soon. You might try Aperture with M9. Don't know it works or not. I don't use Aperture with M8 because it has to wait files write to SD card before transfering to Mac. But I don't think you have any choice for M9 right now. Looking forward to hear your experience with M9 tethering soon. kitty
