harmsr Posted November 19, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 19, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can you tell which is which? Here are the three choices. Canon 5D with 24-70L / 2.8 at 70mm and ISO 640. D200 with Zeiss 50 / 1.4 and ISO 640. M8 with 50 Lux ASPH (coded) detection enabled and ISO 640. Also comment on which one you prefer. mwilliamsphotography Posted November 19, 2006 Share #14 Posted November 19, 2006 top one: compressed internet jpg. Middle one: compressed internet jpg. Bottom one: compressed internet jpg. Like I said earlier, don't trust anything on the web, or not even full res on a computer screen Print it. BTW, I don't see the usual Canon barrel distortion of the 24-70, so it was either cropped and it's the top one which shows a tiny bit of distortion, or that lens wasn't used at all. The bottom one is cooler in tone, which in general is a Zeiss trait compared to Leica M glass. But who knows? It's all sub-one meg compressions. rvaubel Posted November 19, 2006 Share #17 Posted November 19, 2006 top one: compressed internet jpg. Middle one: compressed internet jpg. Bottom one: compressed internet jpg. Like I said earlier, don't trust anything on the web, or not even full res on a computer screen ............. But who knows? It's all sub-one meg compressions. fotografz I agree with one major exception. And that is the notorious purple haze craze. If those photographs had been of an object that was highly reflective in the infrared, it would be easy to tell the difference even with an internet jpeg. earleygallery Posted November 19, 2006 Share #18 Posted November 19, 2006 Leica Nikon Canon Agree it's not really a fair comparison on the web, I reckon my phone cam would stand up to these!
devils-advocate Posted November 19, 2006 Share #19 Posted November 19, 2006 Ok, I'll play: I like #1 the best -- the relationship of tones on the car give the most 'dimesional' quality to it. Out of blind faith, let's guess it's the M7 #2 has the least apparent DOF. Makes me think that's the 5D. #3 seems like it has a touch less detail, so it's the D200? 1 - M8 2 - Canon 3- Nikon (fwiw, I never win the lottery, either)
suse Posted November 19, 2006 Share #20 Posted November 19, 2006 Oh, boy. I shoot with a 5D and a 24-70 a lot... I'm more certain that the middle one is the M8, than the other 2... So I'd say: Canon Leica Nikon.
