Advertisement Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Hi wattsy, Take a look here Leica Mayfair Store Open. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
delander † Posted October 15, 2009 Share #102 Posted October 15, 2009 It may be a Leica shop but I notice that it has developed a bit of British clutter already. Jeff
giordano Posted October 15, 2009 Share #103 Posted October 15, 2009 It may be a Leica shop but I notice that it has developed a bit of British clutter already. That's on purpose to prove that Leica lenses are great at handling loads of fine detail:D
Indecisive Posted October 15, 2009 Share #104 Posted October 15, 2009 Why twice? It's a nice enough shop but that's all it is. You get nothing but a warm welcome and a nice cup of tea/coffee. If you have been once then you would want to go again. I have been three times, is that ok? I am probably going back for a forth visit before the month closes
Overgaard Posted October 15, 2009 Share #105 Posted October 15, 2009 Why twice? It's a nice enough shop but that's all it is. Ask not why we visited almost every day, ask rather why we missed our visit today
scsambrook Posted October 16, 2009 Share #106 Posted October 16, 2009 Can anyone remember the old Leitz London showroom at 30 Mortimer Street?
scc Posted January 5, 2010 Share #107 Posted January 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I visited the store today, to get my hands on and experience the 24 Elmarit and 24 Summilux. I now would officially like to open the floor to offers on one of my kidneys.. What a great store with friendly helpful staff. A very relaxed atmosphere for sure. As it happens they have an M9 owner's Akademie course this Thursday which I plan to attend. It is complimentary and should be fun!
gravastar Posted January 5, 2010 Share #108 Posted January 5, 2010 Can anyone remember the old Leitz London showroom at 30 Mortimer Street? Yes, I visited many times and always a pleasant experience.. My first meeting with them was years ago just after I had purchased a chrome 35mm Summicron with goggles from a local dealer. As I walked out of the shop with my new lens I tripped and fell. The box and lens went flying into the road and was picked up and trapped between the rear wheels of a passing lorry. The lens was flung up against the tail gate and then run over by another lorry before I recovered it. After the people at Mortimer street had worked their magic for free the lens was like new again! Look forward to working with you, I'll be leading the session, if we all get through the snow it will be a great photographic opportunity in London. Cheers.
