dcoombs Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) With all the improvements, full frame sensor at least, they have managed to pack the M9 into the same body as the M8. Dimensions are identical according to the spec sheet: 139x80x37mm. The M9 has gained 40 grams, to 585g, but that is probably due to middle age... All in all, quite remarkable, and answers those who were worried about another M5 type size change. Doug
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi dcoombs, Take a look here M8 - M9 Relative Sizes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
RockyIII Posted September 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2009 I agree it is a remarkable feat of engineering that Leica got a full frame sensor in the same size body. The weight difference is apparently the battery. M8 weight is given without a battery, and M9 weight is given with one. Rocky
