UK Leica salesman seems to have been favouring certain dealers by ensuring they had considerable stock yesterday and then told other smaller dealers that Leica UK would have no stock at all for 10 days or more.

I'm not sure that's entirely true. I ordered a black M9 from Cambrian Photography in Colwyn Bay yesterday and was told this morning that the next delivery of M9s to UK will take place tomorrow, Friday 11 September. I hope to have my M9 in my hands early next week - the first in North Wales? Supplies are, however, limited. Cambrian is getting just the one that I ordered as a first delivery.

I believe it is true that the first, pre-announcement, delivery was restricted to shops in the London area, so as to have stock available to support the London launch.

John,

If my dealer had been told that, I might not have liked it but I would have understood that the bigger dealers would get first dabs. As I said above, it is the fact that the salesman made up some cock and bull story that irritates me and my dealer. Rule One in business - never lie to your customer/client - it will always rebound to bite you in the butt. My dealer is going to phone me after he has spoken to David Bell at MK. It would be really nice if one could be available for pick up when I am in the UK next Tuesday.

Yes.

Black version ordered on monday. Delivery should be in a couple of weeks :o

Price in Belgium 4999 euros including 21% tax

Ianman,

How can the price be 4999 euros in Belgium,

Everywhere I know the euro price is 5 500 euros!!

500 euros difference is huge between France and Belgium.

Are you sure of this price?

All the best,

Jean-Luc

I'm not saying all dealers in Belgium are selling at this price. And yes I am sure of this price. 5500 is only the RRP.

Yes, black, Dithered over grey.

Same here, picked a black one up today. Indecision made easier due to black being the only colour I was going to get prior to the weekend.

(When I left the London Leica Store at 3pm this afternoon they still had three black M9's unspoken for by the way, I expect that might have changed by now though.......)

Ordered first available color last week (black for preference, but will take gray now over black later). As previously mentioned, first shipment hits US Friday or Monday, customs clearance, likely Thursday or Friday to dealers.

PRE ORDER FROM Amazon. On notification at B&H. Trying to sell a fully accessorized DLux 4 on E Bay. Take a look!

Getting grey paint, not black.

SHOULD I SELL MY MP, TOO???????

I don't like shelling out 7k at this time. Maybe I should sell the MP, but I don't know.

Can anyone guess whether the M9 will be worth say 3k in five years???

Nervous about this. Really, aside from the DL4, my first digital camera.

Keep the MP. Sold my M6 Classic a while back to help with the purchase of my DMR, and while I'm extremely happy with the DMR, selling the M6 was one of the worst things I ever did, and I regret doing so all the time :(
