marknorton Posted September 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2009 Anleitung = Instructions I think you can guess the "Firmware Update".... It's likely these cameras were made some time ago, so not surprising there's a firmware update already.
scott kirkpatrick Posted September 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2009 I've heard mentions of firmware levels 0.924, 1.0 and 1.002 so far. With the M8, we reached 1.007 in no time at all after announcement. This kind of quick reaction is basically good news, I think. scott
Iansky Posted September 9, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 9, 2009 So, it will be interesting to see what if any firmware updates they offer for the M8/M8.2 - for me ISO 80 would be great but I live in hope!
Guest guy_mancuso Posted September 9, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Check the ISO data in the info button before the update(not there) than check in the Info button after the update and let us know if it is there or not. That may have been the update
erlingmm Posted September 9, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 9, 2009 The firmware for the M9 was distributed to dealers only yesterday, the day before launch. The M9 was distributed to dealers with a preliminary firmware, to limit the functionality before the actual launch. The firmware "update" is therefore not an ordinary update, it is THE firmware for the M9.
chris_tribble Posted September 9, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 9, 2009 Downloaded and installing at the moment - I hope it gets rid of an annoying bug where when you switched from INFO to PLAY views the screen blanked and you had to re-engage PLAY. I'll report!
chris_tribble Posted September 9, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 9, 2009 No difference with this version (but no problems installing the firmware)... I'll have to read up on what it was correcting!
gravastar Posted September 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 9, 2009 Chris, the german PDF only tells you how to install the firmware. It's been reported that the cameras were shipped with firmware that gave them limited functionality and that the "real" 1.002 firmware was only released yesterday. Bob.
