tomasis7 Posted September 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) or what title do you other suggest? M8/M9 ?
Advertisement Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Hi tomasis7, Take a look here Moderators, rename subforum called leica m8 to Digital M?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
johnbuckley Posted September 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2009 I understand the sentiment, as we will have a marked degree of overlap. Mods: this is an endorsement. How about "Digital M Forum"? This captures both. JB
photolandscape Posted September 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2009 Definitely Digital M--covers the M8 and M9 in one grouping. The two cameras have much common, and it would be a pain to have to run back and forth between sub-forums.
Double Negative Posted September 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 9, 2009 Agreed, "Digital M" or just "Leica M Forum" (without the 8).
stunsworth Posted September 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2009 From speaking to Andy Barton today I believe there will be changes made to accommodate the M9.
tomasis7 Posted September 9, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted September 9, 2009 Agreed, "Digital M" or just "Leica M Forum" (without the 8). It can mix up with films .. digital M is better for convenience's sake when you are reading text of subforum title you automatically know where forum you are in .. film or digital.. footnoteblog Posted September 9, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm not so sure. They're both digital rangefinders, but the differences will be significant in terms of shooting (ff vs. crop) and processing (at least, bigger files.) I would have to be the voice of dissent and vote separate M8 and M9 forums.
carstenw Posted September 9, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 9, 2009 "Digital M" gets my vote. The URL for the current forum is l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum which is a bit silly, because leica appears twice, and forum appears three times. stevelap Posted September 9, 2009 Share #9 Posted September 9, 2009 There is already an M9 forum http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/ nothing much on it yet though, everyone is still here, for the moment.....
footnoteblog Posted September 9, 2009 Share #10 Posted September 9, 2009 "Digital M" gets my vote. The URL for the current forum is l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum which is a bit silly, because leica appears twice, and forum appears three times. I think this is a subtle case of search marketing beating usability.
Anguish Posted September 9, 2009 Share #11 Posted September 9, 2009 I'm for the M8 and M9 on the same forum, for now at least.
wilfredo Posted September 9, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 9, 2009 Glad to see the M8 forum back without the M9 clutter and frenzy. Cheers!
rick_dykstra Posted September 9, 2009 Share #13 Posted September 9, 2009 Another vote here for a combined M8/M9 forum.
andybarton Posted September 9, 2009 Share #14 Posted September 9, 2009 The M8 and M9 sub-forums have now been split. It will take some time to complete the housekeeping of moving threads into the appropriate sub-fora. Thanks for your patience.
trs Posted September 9, 2009 Share #15 Posted September 9, 2009 Yep, my vote also is on "Digital M", no need for M8 or M9. We just have to change again when M10 comes out.
