Tulpenwahn Posted September 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2009 It would be my first, too. Actually it is already decided. But sometimes, only sometimes, I doubt - and think I could go for a used M8 and spend the saved money on good lenses...

ianman Posted September 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 9, 2009 It would be my first, too. Actually it is already decided. But sometimes, only sometimes, I doubt - and think I could go for a used M8 and spend the saved money on good lenses... I was thinking very much along the same lines. In the past I did a lot of Kodak b/w Highspeed Infrared film so the M8 was - and still is - very interesting. But I am also lucky that a series of financial circumstances allow me not only to get the M9 but also some nice little lenses (I recently got a AA 90 Summicron and a lovely black paint 1.4 Lux !!). All I need (ha "need" !!) now is a wide angle. Also I recently found some film that should be very much like the old Kodak B/W IR so I may revert to film for IR.
