I'm wondering if the coding of my 'old' Summilux 35mm #11870 is possible? - Of course, the bayonet ring is different, but I'm wondering whether corection data is available at all?

Thanks for your help and best regards,

Michael

I don't think it is, officially at least. With the M9 you won't need to worry about it of course, provided it's covered (and I'm sure it will be).

The M9 woun't escape the need for coded lenses.

i just looked at a list of codable lenses, and found only the lens below (the ASPH version of the summilux. maybe your list is newer, so please correct me if i'm wrong.

in any case, i had my summilux 11870 milled for coding in NY, and coded it as the ASPH model (011101) with good results. i'm pretty sure that leica won't do the coding, as they were not able to do my summicron v3 with the same flange construction.

in any case, good luck with your project.

Apologies for not being precise: I'm looking at the internal list of my M9 (FW 1.002), where the 11870 is available for manual setting. - Big improvement - and apparently I'm already having a version that doesn't have the mechanical focus problem on infinity.

Best regards,

Michael
