Advertisement Posted August 30, 2009 Posted August 30, 2009 Hi wilfredo, Take a look here Lens Coding Gadget. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
george_b Posted August 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 30, 2009 Damned expensive if it all it tells you is the 6 bit codes. I seem to remember getting a printed sheet from the web via this forum, all for the price of a sheet of paper.

stunsworth Posted August 30, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 30, 2009 Damned expensive if it all it tells you is the 6 bit codes It also has a template for applying the codes and a suitable pen. Personally I tried manual coding with one lens and found it to be a pain.
2Bébèrt Posted August 30, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 30, 2009 I use this thing and it works as long as the marker-dots are nice black. Wears off after time so you'll have to reapply from time to time. Bought mine for 70$ at the inventor, Tim Isaac, the same guy behind the Thumbs-up "gadged". gwelland Posted August 30, 2009 Share #6 Posted August 30, 2009 Yes, it's the Match Technical lens coder, as mentioned, by Tim Issac. match Technical Services - Coder Kit I've used one of these in the past. The pen doesn't last long but the template works. My version doesn't quite align the dots perfectly and I have to adjust it when I mount it - I suspect that problem was solved in later manufacturing as I don't hear of others with the same issue. It's basically the plastic template & pen plus a rotating decoder wheel in a fancy package. By the way, Bo Lorentzen has been making a cardboard template that works fabulously and is cheap. There's a thread here somewhere but if you PM him I'm sure he can tell you more. Basically the same thing in cardboard for $5 + shipping - you provide the codes & pen! Philippe D. Posted August 31, 2009 Share #8 Posted August 31, 2009 Hi Wilfredo, Does anyone have any experience with this lens coding gadget? Any thoughts?I use the M-Coder too, but look at popflash instead.I had to make a small cut on the mark, to make it exact. Works well since.
Shootist Posted August 31, 2009 Share #9 Posted August 31, 2009 Not to downplay Tim's or anyone elses coder but Bo Lorensen??? (not sure of the spelling) a member of this forum has IMHO the best coding device made and it is only $5.00. I actually have 2 of them, through a miscommunication on shipping address and they are just that good especially for the price. I would post a link to his website and to the page to buy the coder but I'm on vacation and the notebook I brought with me crashed.
