marknorton Posted August 29, 2009 Author Share #21 Posted August 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) This particular information is very interesting in and of its self and is highly relevant. At least it's based on fact. These accounts to 31/03/2008 were filed on 29 January 2009, just 2 days before the 10 month cut-off. I'll keep an eye out for the accounts to 31/03/2009. kenneth Posted August 29, 2009 Share #22 Posted August 29, 2009 Come now Kenneth, I'm sure you're dead chuffed to find out Stephen K Lee's parents gave him the same name as a future member of the Leica User Forum Sorry you've lost me there
andybarton Posted August 29, 2009 Share #23 Posted August 29, 2009 Stephen K Lee's middle name is...? Not Kevin
alun Posted August 29, 2009 Share #24 Posted August 29, 2009 If remember correctly, someone, somewhere on this forum has a sig line that reads: "Leica already has a business plan. Show me your *photographs*." I now see its relevance.
kenneth Posted August 29, 2009 Share #25 Posted August 29, 2009 Kenneth, it's good to hear they were helpful when you spoke to them but the reason they were there at all is that they're still in business and the purpose of my post - trivia aside - was to show, for the most recently reported results at least, that Leica in the UK is a profitable business. We can't tell the whole story of course - the company's main supplier is also its owner so there may be some distortions - but at face value, Leica Camera Ltd is a viable business. I aplogise Mark I hadn't realised you were Leica UK. I am pleased that I had said good things about the company

marknorton Posted August 29, 2009 Author Share #27 Posted August 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Kenneth, Stephen K Lee was brought in as Leica Camera AG CEO 3 years ago, got peoples' backs up and was later dispatched whence he came. Still, I got 30% off my WATE and 75mm Summilux thanks to him.

marknorton Posted August 29, 2009 Author Share #30 Posted August 29, 2009 I give up! Kenneth, all that information is available on publicly accessible web-sites. The financial numbers, true, are from a subscription site I use for credit checking my customers but the rest are freely available. I'm very much outside Leica Camera Ltd, looking in and, at least up to 31 March 2008, it looks fine.
