My email recently has been loaded with questions " will my 'R' lenses fit this Nikon, or Canon or Olympus. What about the noise level, and on and on. I am posting this in the film section, because of the use of "R" lenses on third party equipment. I have a question. What bodies did you use? Or is this just an attempt to use Leica lenses and then degrade them by putting them on third party cameras. I have three Leica bodies and four lenses. I have around 5 or 6 EOS bodies (film) going back to the RT early model for macro work. The secret is that the mirror doesn't flip causing vibrations. I have enough lenses to open a Canon lens shop. I also have two EOS 1N RTs again where the mirror doesn't flip. A very sophisticated version of the early RT. I have a Canon EOS 40 D digital and a Leica pocket C-Lux 2. I use a small Lowepro camera bag,. Big enough to hold said camera and in the front pocket, an additional memory card and additional Leica battery. I guess what I'm trying to say is, what did you do with your 'R' film bodies? Or is this just the way to join the swelling mob of frenzied digital users. Leica lens for Nikon cameras Be aware that this is not a simple "on and off bayonet" adapter like you can do with an EOS and R lens. This is a mount change, so although reversible, is semi-permanent. If you plan on continuing to use your R lenses on a Leica film body and a digital body more or less spontaneously, then the solution James describes is the only decent one currently available --- except for trying to find a DMR for sale --- that doesn't require the severe compromises (in my opinion) inherent in the four-thirds bodies available from Olympus, Panasonic, or the Leica Digilux 3.
