hamey Posted November 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2006 Hello William. It looks like an RS-2, (Road Switcher) Built by the American Locomotive Company ( ALCO) in 1950 To what I know, 366 were built for the United States and 17 for Canada. The next model that Alco produced was the RS-3 in 1956 and 1265 for the US and 98 for Canada were built. First batch of the RS-2 were 1500 HP. Second batch were 1600 HP. The RS-3 was rated at 1600 HP, all RS-2/3 were powered with the ALCO 244 Diesel Engine. Ken.
