Steve -

If you've seen my photo posts or my site you can tell that I generally prefer color to B&W (though for many years I did just B&W and processed everything myself). However, frequently Forum members post exceptionally fine B&W photos. Which is the long way of saying that I much prefer your B&W "eyes" photo, and for several reasons. In your B&W photo color does not distract from the eyes, which are clearly your main subject. The contrast is greater in that photo, too, further emphasizing the eyes. The pose seems better in the B&W. And finally, your subject is more attractive to me in the B&W.

Steve,

You continue to post outstanding images.

I agree with Stuart that the B&W is the one I'd want to put in my portfolio; but there's nothing at all wrong with the color one, either.

Thanks for sharing these wonderful portraits.

Allan

Steve, apart from all that has been rightly said, it is the upward look and expression in the model's eyes that made all the difference between the 1st & the 2nd. The B&W image is stronger overall. Well Captured.
