johnwolf Posted August 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know there are not many choices, but has anyone found an 11 x 14" inkjet paper they like? Preferably fiber based. Thanks. John
Advertisement Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Hi johnwolf, Take a look here 11 x 14" inkjet paper. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marquinius Posted August 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 23, 2009 John, I'm not sure if they have this specific size (I use 13" x 19" mostly myself), but I'm very happy with Harman FBAI. 11"x14" ... that's a bit of an off size, isn't it? Or am I just ignorant.
johnwolf Posted August 24, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted August 24, 2009 Marco, 11 x 14" was a standard paper size in darkroom days, but only a few inkjet manufacturers continued with it. I'm interested because I'm ordering a Pina Zingaro screwpost portfolio binder that takes that size paper. I guess I'll use 13 x 19 and trim it down. Marquinius Posted August 25, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2009 John, Intrigued as I was, I read a little further on this size and bumped into what you just told: it being a standard size. There is an interesting wiki about paper sizes that may help you: Paper size - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Good hunting!
haroldp Posted August 25, 2009 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2009 Ilford makes many papers, including gallerie smooth pearl (one of my favorites) in 11 x 17. This is a better fit to Leica 2/3 format, and less wasteful than trimming 13 x 19. Regards ... Harold
johnwolf Posted August 26, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 26, 2009 Thanks, Harold. That's exactly what I decided to use. 11 x 17 makes sense. And although it's not a fiber paper, I like Gallerie Smooth Pearl very much. It's also priced well. Appreciate your suggestion. John
cmatter Posted September 1, 2009 Share #7 Posted September 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) John, Intrigued as I was, I read a little further on this size and bumped into what you just told: it being a standard size. There is an interesting wiki about paper sizes that may help you: Paper size - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Good hunting! Marco.. thanks for this Wiki reference. Very useful, and exactly what I need to try to educate clients (as well as myself). The change in "standard" paper sizes that snuck in with the advent of digital printing has not yet transferred over to portfolio makers and client expectations. I finally gave in and bought a good roller trimmer to trim those 8.5 x 11 sheets down to 8 x 10 print size. A pain in the butt... yes; but better than alienating clients
