dkCambridgeshire Posted September 29, 2009 Share #21  Posted September 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dunk: Where did you get a reversing ring for the Macro-Elmarit 60??? Are they available for the "series" mount, or for the "60mm filter" mount, or both?  Thanks. Guy  My current Mk 1 'Series 8' 60mm Elmarit has a 60mm front thread so is easily reversed onto a 60mm male threaded ring but that size ring is not generally available would need to be custom made. When I did the high mag pix I was using my previous Mk 2 60mm Elmarit with 55mm front thread. I sold it when I needed another lens and then replaced it with a Mk 1 . I actually used the reversed Mk 2 60mm Elmarit on a Canon FD bellows with a T90; I have all sorts of step up and step down rings and adaptors for Canon FD ... plus an adaptor for using Leica R bayonet on Canon FD bellows and tubes. At one time my regularly used macro set up on a Canon T90 was the 100mm Macro Elmar which was used with a custom made SRB adaptor. It was only used for close up photography as the adaptor(s) prevented infinity focus. It's possible to use any Leica macro lens on any other camera via a custom adaptor provided you only use the combination for close up photography ie it will not focus at medium distances or infinity.  Cheers  dunk

dkCambridgeshire Posted September 29, 2009 Share #22  Posted September 29, 2009 For details of all the normal Leica R close-up capabilities with Leica R macro lenses, standard lenses, and telephoto lenses - and also Photar lenses - with appropriate adaptors and bellows and Elpro supplementary lenses, try and source Leitz booklet 121.160.023 title: THE LEICA R IN NEAR-FOCUSING RANGE - PERFECT CLOSE-UPS WITHOUT TECHNICAL PROBLEMS ... I was sent mine free by Leica Milton Keynes many years ago when I enquired about reversing rings ... and was advised at the time that Leica do not make reversing rings.  The booklet has charts showing which lenses and accessories achieve magnifications from 1:12 up to aprox 2.5:1 (R lenses) and 1:1 up to 16:1 and beyond (Photar lenses) .  Cheers  dunk
