etrigan63 Posted August 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) to Leica M photography. If the M9 is truly compelling, I will have to save up/sell lots of photos to get one, otherwise the subsequent price drop on the M8.2 will be more than sufficient I suspect. I have already acquired a very nice CV Nokton 35mm f/1.4 and all that remains is the fallout from the announcement. If I do get an M8.2, it looks like chrome for me as I do not fancy black paint. All I need to get now accessory-wise is a ThumbsUp CESP Model 1 and a Luigi half-case in Rally brown.
Advertisement Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi etrigan63, Take a look here The M9 will likely mark my return.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vanhulsenbeek Posted August 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 20, 2009 Nice Picture #1 in the Clouds and Lightning section on your Zenfolio. Perhaps you could contemplate posting it to the Photoforum and explain how you made that. Were HDR techniques involved?

etrigan63 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted August 20, 2009 And then you'll say "What a good boy am I"? As long as I don't load up a credit card to do it, yes. Seriously, this was just a post explain my long absence from the forums. I had to sell my M8 in order to finance a Nikon D700 which I use professionally (I shoot stagecraft, mostly dance). While I loved the M8, it was ill-suited to that kind of work. The lightning photo in my gallery was shot with a D700. I can still post it if you want but I don't think it's appropriate (unless there's a section for Evil Japanese DSLRs). I can post it here if you like and explain the process. etrigan63 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 20, 2009 Traitor! You have no idea how horrible I felt doing it. But I vowed that I would return to Leica M digital as soon as I could.

But I vowed that I would return to Leica M digital as soon as I could. The D700 is a very nice camera though. So don't feel too bad. I have one that I use alongside my M8. (Currently instead of, as my M8 is having it's second holiday in Solms.)
etrigan63 Posted August 20, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted August 20, 2009 Oh, I'm not complaining about my D700. It's low-light capabilities are amazing. I hope that the D700x (D800?) will not sacrifice the low-light performance for the sake of mega-pixels. I just prefer to use an M8 for when I am on walkabout. It's way less obtrusive.
