giordano Posted August 20, 2009 Share #21 Posted August 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Decades ago Leitz sold a (Schneider-made?) Macro-Cinegon 10mm f/1.8 in M-mount. The catalogue lists this as focusing down to 0.12m. I don't know whether it would cover the whole M8 frame even at this distance.
Advertisement Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi giordano, Take a look here Closest focusing lens on M8(Can be non Leica). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted August 20, 2009 Share #22 Posted August 20, 2009 Well, my Tegea 1.8/9.8 mm goes down to 20 cm. Might this be the same lens? The maker is Kinoptik.
giordano Posted August 20, 2009 Share #23 Posted August 20, 2009 Well, my Tegea 1.8/9.8 mm goes down to 20 cm. Might this be the same lens? The maker is Kinoptik. I'm sure not. "Cinegon" is a Schneider name not a Kinoptik one. I don't know the covering power of the Leicina 10mm Macro Cinegon, but it was of course sold for a Super-8 camera. Most 10mm Cinegons seem to have been sold in C mounts so presumably covered the 16mm frame; I've seen one reference to an 11mm image circle. By contrast the 9.8mm Tégéa is a wide-angle lens sold as having a 26mm image circle to cover the 35mm movie frame.
jonno101 Posted August 21, 2009 Author Share #24 Posted August 21, 2009 Thanks, from what you say the best current solution to get tightest frame is 75mm Summicron. So will look at that. Also does the macro adapter only work with the MACRO-ELMAR-M 90mm f/4, or could I use another lens on it?? jon
