scaryink Posted August 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) to include images and discussions of images shot with the M8? This forum has become meaningless and has devolved into a playground for speculation and non relevant subject matter. Please take back the forum to relevant M8 discussions - especially allow the members to post photos and make comments. There is simply not enough material on the hardware to sustain a healthy and informative forum. I say this with respect and concern. George
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Hi scaryink, Take a look here Mods may I suggest you expand this forum. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bo_Lorentzen Posted August 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2009 George, Agree that the discussion is a bit un-inspiring right now (though in some ways entertaining), but figure that is the normal next M racket. but maybe the right way to rename the forum might be "Digital M" . earleygallery Posted August 14, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2009 No! If I buy an M9 I want a dedicated M9 forum, I won't want to be bothered with the gripes of M8 users. I'm really looking forward to the first M9 shots of pot plants on window ledges or cats on chairs to demonstrate how much better it is than any other camera ever produced. Oh yes and I cant wait to see what Luigi has cooked up for the new kit. How about all those new bags that will be coming along? I could care less about photographic images. I just wan't the newest thing.

Cats, being highly intelligent and intuitive creatures, know that something will happen soon. I've noticed ours grooming more often than usual in preparation for their upcoming photo moment. My vote would be to set up a sub-forum under the "Digital Forum" titled "Leica M9 Forum". Leave it like that until the camera is officially announced, or perhaps actually released. Once the M9 is "real", fold the forums back into a combined "Leica M8/M9 Forum".

I'm absolutely with you on the pots of plants, but definitely not on window ledges. I find them so boring...
Bo_Lorentzen Posted August 14, 2009 Share #12 Posted August 14, 2009 LOL.. James, I will borrow one of my friends kids and photograph him half asleep in the city entirely out of focus with a noct and then relish the excitement when people geek out over the noct rendering on the M9 files. ... Maybe just scanning some ektar and claim its M9..? .
adan Posted August 14, 2009 Share #13 Posted August 14, 2009 Well, here's a thread with a LINK to M8 images (saving the Forum's precious disk space!!) and some thoughts on how the M8 did (and room for more) - and no cats or plants in sight. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m8-forum/95112-m8-meets-robert-redford-t-boone.html The photo galleries have their place - but if you check the "xx viewing" numbers, they are really kind of a backwater.
