dNorm Posted November 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello gang. Can any one tell me if the Olympus FL-36 is compatible with the Digilux 2? I'd hate to attach it and cause something to short out. -Norm
Advertisement Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Hi dNorm, Take a look here Question: Digilux 2 Compatible Flash. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Riley Posted November 16, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 16, 2006 Norm I used to think so but it isnt i have the LC-1, and mistankenly thought that all panasonic TTL flash would be the same while the new FZ50 can use Oly flash in TTL mode, LC-1 has the Leica pattern (same as D2) you can use the Leica SF 24D in full TTL, but its not much of an improvement or go to Metz, and use the 'dedicated for Leica module' the SCA 3502 adapter Metz 54MZ-3 : AUTO, 44MZ-2 : AUTO, 70MZ-5 : AUTO the Oly flash says its in AUTO mode when on the hotshoe, but it appears to operate like a manual flash. It cannot sense what apperture or iso the camera is using. Metz 40mzi are just what I use. It is a marvelous flash, relatively light and great power and color, you can spot them on ebay. Best Matthew
dugby Posted November 16, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2006 Just remember any Metz with a D2 will need to have the SCA-3502 Mod4 shoe. The Metz are usually twin reflector units (90% Bounce and 10% fill-in) and have zooming main reflectors than are synchronised with the D2 lens zoom.
