Our family & children's pics some day will be the most important photos we have ever made.

Maybe this one will be shown around in 80 years by grandparents to their grandchildren?

Dirk, I agree absolutely. I often wonder how different it will be for our children when they look back on family photographs, compared to how it was for us. I know I take pictures of my children almost every day (some good, some not so good) and I'm sure this applies to many photographers with children. Imagine what a legacy they will have when they are older, a very detailed record of their lives right from when they were born. It's quite different from the handful of snaps that I have of my own childhood.

 

I wonder if that will make the new generation value the photographs more, or less?

Dan,

 

some fairly ruthless pruning of the myriad of images should result in a reasonable set of prints for Monty to look at when he's older - put this one in the collection.

I always hated it to be photographed by *drunk-in-knipsmodus-total-recall-stealers*. My own child's pics are ugly. And I'm proud of that piece of history.

I've got two cool daughters. They deserve for their grandchildren better stuff than that. (without f°°°in' *cheeese*-force 2. Questionable motive, maybe...
