manilius Posted August 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought an M8.2 back in November of last last... Been working well... No probs etc... Okay a bit of the paint is wearing away... But it's a tool not a museum piece! Came to use it yesterday... Menu display working fine... But no battery indicator... No shutter function... No displays within the viewfinder, other than the framelines... Assumed maybe the batteries needed topping up... So, charged my battery up... Plus two spares... Still the same thing... Anyone heard of this before? Otherwise I will take it to my Manchester dealer in the next day or two... Many thanks! Mark.

wilfredo Posted August 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 10, 2009 Taking it back sounds like a good idea.
Bo_Lorentzen Posted August 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted August 10, 2009 Mark, That sounds odd, since you have a couple of days to think about it, why don't you jank the battery for say 2-3 days and then repower it..? I wish there were a "reset" button as electronics have a way to mess itself up now and then. .
Shootist Posted August 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted August 10, 2009 This is what I'm talking about with the M9. It needs to be bullet proof. None of these "Works one day and doesn't the next". Good luck. But if you bought it new it is still under warranty.

Mark. as noted yanking the battery out is a good idea to start- i would suggest a NEW sd card. i was on vacation last August and i put in a "fresh" card before going out to dinner- i use many small sized cards rather than 1 big 1. sorta like many rolls of film anyways when arrived at the luao (spelling??) i started to shoot- and nothing! boy was i upset- we got back to our room and i put in a different card and voila the camera worked- all that was lost were photos of a kickbutt luao. it is worth a try
manilius Posted August 13, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted August 13, 2009 Tried everything you've suggested guys including batteries and SD cards... Even took it back to David at the Leica shop here in Manchester... As baffled as me! So it's back to Leica... Maybe with the timespan an all... And feeling a tadge generous... They might upgrade me to the 'M9'! Ooops... There's those flying pink pigs again! Cheers! Mark.
