pascal_meheut Posted August 8, 2009 Share #21 Posted August 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I had a 15" for 2 or 3 years and wanted to change it. As I do not like the glossy screens, the 17" was the only realistic option. I hesitated a lot because of its size: it does not fit into the backpack I used, etc. Finally, I went for it (with a new backpack) and I'm glad with it. It is nice, powerful, huge HD, good screen. Still less easy to move around or to use in a plane than the 15" (unless you're flying only Business class) but this is manageable. If I were to travel a lot or use it anywhere all the times, as a student for instance, I would rather get something between the MacBook Air and the 15" but as a machine to complement my MacPro and follow me in holidays or on some business trip, it is fine. Advertisement Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Hi pascal_meheut, Take a look here 15" or 17". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
elgenper Posted August 8, 2009 Share #22 Posted August 8, 2009 Will the big LCD - the 30", work on the MacBook Pro? Well, mine works excellently with my now ancient 15" PowerBook G4 1.67 (even dual-displaying together with the buit-in one), so I´d assume that a newer, far more powerful model would have no problems. But then, marketing people just might have come up with the idea of "product segmenting", and ordered some crippling of the newer MacBooks in order to force people to buy MacPro´s...
