eleskin Posted August 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted August 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well, I just bought a new Epson 3800 for my Leica M8 and also a new IMAC 24". I also have the last generation Powerbook G4 15", and noticed Epson recomends the intel G5's and newer PC's. I know my Powerbook is a few years old, but it still is a powerhouse when it comes to processing large files, especially those from my M8 that I interpolate to 100MB files. So how can this Powerbook not work with my new printer? It seems odd. I can add another 1 GIG or ram to make it 2 GIG (My new IMAC has 4 GIG, expandable to 8 GIG). Advertisement Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hi eleskin, Take a look here Is my Powerbook G4 Outdated and cannot be used with a new Epson 3800 printer?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Shootist Posted August 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted August 2, 2009 Epson lists a driver for PowerPC Mac with OSX 10.3.9 - 10.5.x. If your OS isn't one of those versions then you may need to upgrade it. But all you need is the driver. I think you are not reading the whole line on the download page. All the downloads start with "Intel-based Macs". But they go on to include PowerPC Macs also
