Advertisement Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 Hi cocker, Take a look here See - Even film can't get colours right now!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ddp Posted November 14, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 14, 2006 Cute....more of a function of the orignal scan of course.

For me this is unacceptable considering the high price!

For me this is unacceptable considering the high price! It's strange how some people speak as though they are being forced to buy an M8. If its unacceptable to you, fine - don't buy it!! My post was meant to be light-hearted after all the (ill-informed in most cases) posts of doom and outrage.

I never quite finished my PhD, and I'm very happy with the image quality I'm getting from the M8
cocker Posted November 14, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted November 14, 2006 I never quite finished my PhD, and I'm very happy with the image quality I'm getting from the M8 I've seen your M8 images Jonothan and I would be very happy too. They are excellent - another reason why I'm looking forward to getting my M8. Interestingly, I never quite finished my PhD in History. Perhaps there's something in that :)
vic vic Posted November 14, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 14, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) keith.... have u ever used a kodachromee???? have u ever used good slide film and watched it on light table ????? some bodies bad scan is not a representative case about film photography... there are many good reasons to get m8, but inferior scanning quality of slide film is not one of those reasons for sure......... cocker Posted November 14, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted November 14, 2006 "have u ever used a kodachromee????" Yes Victor - I first used Kodachrome in the 1970's - and I can spell it too!
vic vic Posted November 14, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 14, 2006 keith .. in that case of the link u provided, it is so obvious that the scan doesnot reflect the slide..... so, i was thinking to myself, may be u dont know how the slide looks... no, i dont mean to particular photo u metioned... i mean to overall charcteristic..... so bringing it as argument against film or in favour of digital camera is a bit strange..... the provided link has nothing to do with neother the m8 nor the kodachrome... frc Posted November 15, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 15, 2006 My slides look great when scaned. It took some time to get this far, ok. Still Kodachrome and Velvia and Provia are my referrence. Scanning requires paying attention to. Do the job right, get the images right.
