Hi,

Has anyone used the Tri-Elmar-M 4/28-35-50 ASPH lens with the M8 ?

is F4 really to close to use this lens as standard lens?

I'd buy this one and back up with a 35 summilux 1.4 for when I have limited light.

What do you think?

Eric

I have the Tri-Elmar and absolutely love it! And with the higher ISO capability of the M8 I find that f/4 isn't a terribly huge problem. And when it is I have some faster lenses I can use instead of it. But the TE is (IMHO) a great overall lens.

No problems at all- a fine lens, the 4.0 is not a handicap under nomal light conditions. Shooting 1/16th at 4.0 gets you into some pretty dim places... The 28 part seems to perform really better than on film, where it was rather good, but not as good as 35/50 On the M8 the performance seems more even. But it still obstructs the viewfinder a bit.
