adrienbjo Posted July 28, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I have a Leica IIIG from 1957 and I have a problem with the shutter. It seems to go too slowly. The second "curtain" moves very slowly from left to right when released. Is there anything I can do? t seems to get stuck. Does anyone have an explosed view of this camera? Advertisement Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Hi adrienbjo, Take a look here Leica IIIG shutter problem . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
enboe Posted July 28, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 28, 2009 I would send the camera into Leica, DAG, Krauter, or Steve's for a good clean, lube, and adjust. It should then last many decades. Eric
MelSnyder Posted July 28, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 28, 2009 Who is "Steve's"? I have an M4P in need of a CLA (small amount of fungus in the viewfinder, not visible when used, but visible from front). Kindermann in Canada wants $250 plus 2-way shipping - which is OK if that's the going rate. When I tell you that the last camera service I had was at Marty Forscher in NYC, you know that not only my cameras are older models. I'm ashamed to admit that in 25 years, the M4P never had a CLA. Just keeps on keepin' on. I've been a bit disappointed in the wide-open performance of my 1980s 35mm f1.4 Summilux, but always amazed by my 50mm Summicron and 90mm Tele-Elmarit.
