akiralx Posted July 28, 2009 Share #21 Posted July 28, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thankyou very much for the link and help.Bo, your tips about checking the lens are so helpful, i can nick a pen light off my doctor, no problem!! Trouble is i live in Dorset and would probably need to buy a lens from the internet and sent to me, would you buy a lens without checking it first? That does seem very risky! Lucy I have never bought a lens, either new or second hand, and checked it first. So far I've been lucky and received fine specimens - or if I haven't I'm unaware of it (the same thing?) Advertisement Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Hi akiralx, Take a look here 50mm 1.5 Nokton or Zeiss sonnar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ronazle Posted July 28, 2009 Share #22 Posted July 28, 2009 Hi, I know nothing about the Sonnar, but do have a 1.5 and a 1.1 Nokton. In that the 1.1 is new, I will reserve a detailed opinion. Having said that, it appears the 1.5 is more veiling flare prone in bright sunlight than the 1.1! However, that is the only fault of the 1.5 I have experienced. But, for that reason, I would be somewhat hesitant to use the 1.5 as a general purpose lens. For low light it is superb.rlt
